I Could've Been Your Girl

The video for "I Could've Been Your Girl" by She & Him, directed by Zooey Deschanel, came out yesterday and what can I say but like all their other videos, adorable.

Monday Videos: The Taxman Cometh

For those in the states, it's that time again. The last day to file your Federal and State income taxes. Here are some videos for you to watch after you filed them.

Monday Videos: Mister JT

I decided to my video posts to Mondays because who doesn't watch YouTube videos on the first day back at work while settling from the weekend.

Who else is going to pick up The 20/20 Experience tomorrow? I'm so excited that Justin Timberlake is finally releasing new music after spending the last seven years making films and getting married. I already know that I'll have the album on continuous rotation for the next week and I also really want to see him and Jay-Z in concert this summer. Fingers crossed that it'll happen.

Sunday Videos: The Postal Service

(source)

When I saw this image on The Postal Service's website couple of weeks ago, I squeed. Give Up is an album that shaped my musical tastes in my early twenties. Wow, it is crazy how much time has passed when I can write something like that. For the 10th anniversary, they are going to reissue the album in April and will perform at Coachella this year. I hope they have a proper tour this year because it would be amazing to see them live.

Sunday Videos: Vegas Bound

This Friday I'll be going to Vegas for my friends birthday and I can't wait. It's been 15 years since the last time I was there, when Vegas was trying to be family friendly. Remember that?
Since then my sister and heck even my parents have been there, but not me. Until now.
I'm really excited to finally be going. I've already got my outfits picked out and my Halloween costume ready, just in case.

As Annie Walker says in Bridesmaids...

Sunday Videos: Current Faves

It's been forever since I done this feature. Anyways, here are some of my current favorite songs.

I bought Ellie Goulding's newest album Halcyon last week and I love it. Most people will know her because of "Lights", but she has way more up in her sleeve than that.

I'm not a big Bruno Mars fan but I like this song. The Police vibe to the song is a nice throwback while at teh same time being slightly different from the other pop songs currently on the radio. He's also the host and musical guest for this weeks SNL and it'll be interesting how that will turn out.

Last night, a friend told me that he's been listening to this song non-stop and I should check it out. Atoms for Piece is the side project of Thom Yorke, Flea, and longtime producer Nigel Goodrich and they have a new album coming out soon. It might be me, but Thom is one of the most oddly relaxing vocalists.

Sunday Videos: No Doubt About It

I've had the new No Doubt song "Settle Down" on repeat for the past week and it's made me want to re-listen to their earlier stuff. I can't wait for their new album, their last album was released almost 10 years ago, and I swear Gwen hasn't aged a bit since her and the band burst on to the scene in the mid '90s. In a world filled with Gaga, Katy, Rhianna, etc. Gwen is still boss in my book.
Here is their new video and some of their old favorites.

America, **** Yeah!

To my fellow Americans at home and abroad, happy 4th of July! Don't know what my plans are yet, but BBQ  and fireworks will definitely be involved. I also might have a movie marathon by watching Captain America, Independence Day, Team America: World Police, and National Treasure.

Now here are some aptly themed gifs and pics I found over on Tumblr. Enjoy!

Birthday Music Countdown: 2012

This is the number one song this week and honestly I have yet to get tired of it. I think it's because it's such a simple song, with not a lot of bells and whistles to it. Plus it has the universal theme of a broken down relationship that everyone can relate to in their lives.

There you have it, all 30 #1 Billboard songs from each year. It was a lot of fun finding out what songs where number one because they can take you back to a specific date and time when you heard it. A lot of the songs I posted, I still get a kick out of listening every now and then.

Now it's going to be interesting what the #1 song will be in the next 10 years.

Birthday Music Countdown: 2011

Can't believe that this is the second to last number one that I'll be posting. The funny thing about this song is that she sings "I'll lay your ship bear" but her pronunciation makes it sound like she's saying the other s word. So I think it's the first time a non-cuss word gets bleeped out in a song. :P

Sunday Videos: Give Me Something to Sing About

Some songs I hope to sing or hear being sung when I go to karaoke night for my birthday this week.

Birthday Music Countdown: 2009

I tend to think that 2009 was the year The Black Eyed Peas would not go away.

Birthday Music Countdown: 2007

I think Adam Levine has just gotten hotter with age.
