Vegas Vaction

Can I just say that I want to go to Vegas at least once a year. I had the best time there with my friends walking along the strip, eating good food, and dancing the night away, and late night games of beer pong. It was a nice little vacation from reality.

Sunday Videos: Vegas Bound

This Friday I'll be going to Vegas for my friends birthday and I can't wait. It's been 15 years since the last time I was there, when Vegas was trying to be family friendly. Remember that?
Since then my sister and heck even my parents have been there, but not me. Until now.
I'm really excited to finally be going. I've already got my outfits picked out and my Halloween costume ready, just in case.

Bay Area Fun

Last week I went up to the Bay Area and I had a lot of fun and I was sad when Sunday rolled around and I had to come back home. It was great spending time with my family, eating yummy food, and exploring parts of the Bay Area I haven't visited before.

L to R: sun rising in central California, making s'mores, my yummy creation, mango and macapuno ice cream, my aunt and uncles house has a basement something I've never seen in California, the only time I worked out in the hotel gym, Panda cookies from the 99 Ranch Market, Korean side dishes, beef bulgogi lunch, outside the Apple headquarters, I ended up getting the bottom shirt from their store, obligatory tourist picture, yummy appetizers, drinks of choice for the night, my aunt and cousins performing a hula dance, spent most of my Friday night on the dance floor
L to R: statue in Golden Gate Park, pagoda in the Japanesse Tea Garden, the steepest bridge ever, Golden Gate Bridge, the Transamerica building, yummy Pho from the Golden Flower, alley in Chinatown, quiet in the tunnel please, being silly with the heart sculptures in Union Square, love the old buildings in San Francisco, grapevines, on the drive home I watched Workaholics and Thor (which I also watched on the way there), train cars, drive by view of Pismo Beach, last stop before going home

Style Inspiration: Do You Know the Way to San Jose?

Tonight I'm going up to San Jose for the weekend where I'll be attending a family function and I can't wait . It's been 5-6 years since I've last visited the Bay Area and while it may be a short trip, I hope I can at least squeeze in some thrift store shopping, a visit to Coit Tower, and stopping by Kara's Cupcakes
I also used this as an excuse to make some outfits I would wear. I actually might attempt outfit #2 because I have the top in my closet.

Comic-Con Recap: Sunday

It's been two weeks since Comic-Con and I'm finally doing a Sunday recap. Well more like a picture recap because I spent most of Sunday walking the floor and around 3, my brother and I left the awesomeness that was Comic-Con 2011 and made our way home.

Overall, it was a lot of fun. Yeah there can be minuses, long lines being one of them, and you might not get to do everything that's on your checklist. But just to have that experience and getting to meet new people is what makes Comic-Con something I hope to go to every year.

Comic-Con Recap: Friday

whatiwore.07.22.11_2

Graphic-Tee: Jinx
Skirt and belt: Old Navy
Sandals: Payless

I apologize for the delay, but I'm finally getting around to posting the rest of my Comic-con recaps. My Friday outfit included another geeky graphic tee. This time it's the fictional fast food joint (that you probably shouldn't eat at) Cheesy Beards from The Guild. I got it at last years Comic-Con and it's a conversation starter when I wear it. When someone asks me about this shirt, sometimes I'll tell them it's a regional franchise and that I got the shirt from a friend. :P

I started Friday by walking down 6th street where I got free coffee and pins from the Falling Skies street and then I made my way over to where Marvel Comics were displaying their monster trucks. You heard right, monster trucks. Next year during Comic-con, Marvel is going to present Monster Trucks Live.

It looks like it would be an awesome event to experience and they even had some of the trucks on display.

Again, I spent most of the day walking the floor or outside the convention center. It's way better than having to wait in line for panels, which I ended up doing the next day.
I also have a really cool celeb sighting. My brother and I were leaving the exhibit floor when I saw over by a Starbucks cart, Edgar Wright. A favorite of my brother and I, he directed Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz and Scott Pilgrim vs. the World. He was just there getting coffee, so my brother quickly got out his Polaroid camera and got a picture with him.

Edgar and my brother
Unfortunately I didn't get a picture because I was dumb and took too long figuring out how to use my brothers camera. I was just too director struck. Ah maybe next time.

Adult Swim Ice Cream Trucks
Adult Swim had ice cream trucks that handed out Ben and Jerry's ice cream bars.

We bumped into the Venture Bros Monarchs and Futurama's Fry at Smashburger.

Later on my brother and I went over to the House of Blues to check out Donald Glover (of Community) where he performed as Childish Gambino.  It was an awesome show (he had a full band to back him up) and he's  just super talented. Not only does he act and write (he used to write for 30 Rock),  but he has a great singing voice and is a pretty good rapper. Plus anyone that randomly name checks Shining Time Station in a rap song is awesome in my book.

I'll be back tomorrow for my Saturday recap and a post just on the food I had there. Nom nom!
