Sunday was the first day I broke out my boots which might have not been the best idea because later on it got really warm. I know talking about the weather is the most boring topic to blog about, but I'm seriously looking forward to cooler weather and I'm tired of this never ending heat. Right now it's 97 degrees. So not fall weather. This outfit is the total opposite of my last outfit post. Channeling some 90's grunge/hipster with this one. I wish I wore something like this in middle school instead of some of the unfortunate outfit choices I made back then. I remember spending a good part of 7th grade wearing baggy jeans, flannel and boots. Not really that flattering.

Anyhoo, I finally finished some sewing projects with one of them I'm extremely proud of. I'm catching up on my reading by trying to spend at least 30 minutes reading and away from the computer, which can be such a time waster (I have a slight Tumblr addiction). I'll be done with Bossypants and will start reading The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy next. Also have some other things to post about, just have to make sure procrastination and laziness doesn't get a hold of me.

It's a Sunshine Day

Dress: Elle for Kohls
Shirt (underneath): Old Navy
Jacket: Target
Cat Pin: Antique shop in Riverside
Tights: unknown
Boots: Forever 21

I've worn this dress here and here. This time around I paired it with my go to black blazer and my new boots from Forever 21. I love my black knee boots to death, but I sometimes a girl just needs flat boots. I've been on the hunt for the perfect pair for the past few weeks and thought I had them with this pair. Unfortunately, I couldn't find it in my size. I also have to problem of large calves.*
So they have to be right below my calves or I'll end up looking stumpy.
Anyways, a couple of days ago I went to Forever 21 while I was waiting to pick up my brother. after roaming the store looking at every potential boot, I found these babies tucked under an accessories table. Tried them and ta-dah! My new boots that will be getting lots of use this year.

Also after over a month of cold and rainy weather, it's nice to finally see the sun. I'm not a
vampire from Forks after all. This weekend it's going to be in the 70s. Too bad I'll be spending most of the weekend at work. Boo. I seriously can't wait until spring. I can only deal with the cold weather so much.
Like maybe one snow day and that's it.
I don't know how you Midwestern and East Coast bloggers do it.

*As I went to get a link to the boots, not only do they have it in my size, but they are one sale!
Now should I get them? Hmmm...

Brighten the night sky...

Shirt (underneath dress) and tights: Old Navy
Dress: Thakoon for Target
Jean Jacket: Gap
Boots: Reflections
Necklace: Forever 21

Wore this a couple of days ago. I got this Thakoon for Target early this year and I like how just by layering it with a jacket and tights, it's perfect for the fall weather.

I also love my boots. I have thick calves, so it's hard to find boots that won't suffocate my legs. I ended up buying them in brown also.

Earlier that morning I had my first taste of pumpkin pancakes courtesy of Mimi's which were yummy. I might try to make my own sometime. It also made even better that I had breakfast with a pretty wonderful person. Who I also know reads this blog from time to time. :P

Boot Scootin' Boogie

One of things I love about fall is the plethora of boots out there. So many different styles to choose from. One style I'm currently into are buckled/biker boots.
They have that look that says, don't mess with me. It's also the perfect compliment to floral dresses and basically anything girly.

Here are some boots I found in different price ranges:
Rosegold Walt Midcalf Moto boot, Loeffler Randall Cale Mid Shaft boot, Jeffrey Campbell Rilla Lo Lace Up boot, Frye Engineer boot Shearling Lined Riding Boot, J. Aldridge by Sea of Shoes Tall Buckle Boot, Mixed Media Boot, Wanted Ballard Brown Lace Up Boot

Frye Rogan Engineer Boot, Jeffrey Campbell Shifter Brown Studded Boot, Buckled Biker Boot

I actually bought the last boots a few days ago. You can fold over the top so it's like getting two boots in one. Plus when I wear them, I feel like I can kick some butt. Haha.
I'm planning on getting them in gray when they have my size in stock.
