Bay Area Fun

Last week I went up to the Bay Area and I had a lot of fun and I was sad when Sunday rolled around and I had to come back home. It was great spending time with my family, eating yummy food, and exploring parts of the Bay Area I haven't visited before.

L to R: sun rising in central California, making s'mores, my yummy creation, mango and macapuno ice cream, my aunt and uncles house has a basement something I've never seen in California, the only time I worked out in the hotel gym, Panda cookies from the 99 Ranch Market, Korean side dishes, beef bulgogi lunch, outside the Apple headquarters, I ended up getting the bottom shirt from their store, obligatory tourist picture, yummy appetizers, drinks of choice for the night, my aunt and cousins performing a hula dance, spent most of my Friday night on the dance floor
L to R: statue in Golden Gate Park, pagoda in the Japanesse Tea Garden, the steepest bridge ever, Golden Gate Bridge, the Transamerica building, yummy Pho from the Golden Flower, alley in Chinatown, quiet in the tunnel please, being silly with the heart sculptures in Union Square, love the old buildings in San Francisco, grapevines, on the drive home I watched Workaholics and Thor (which I also watched on the way there), train cars, drive by view of Pismo Beach, last stop before going home

Gone Fishing

I have found a new hobby. Fishing! Which is kind of funny because my dad used to fish (he even had a boat) but I was a youngster more interested in Barbies and play kitchens instead of fishing rods and reels. So when my friends asked if I wanted to hang out and go fishing, I thought it would be fun and now I'm hooked. Pun intended.

We ended up going fishing at a lake over at Harveston. It's catch and release only, so I didn't need a fishing license. After a quick tutorial, some hot dog as bait, and waiting, I caught my first fish. Yay! I ended up catching three more before it got dark. At first I was more concerned about catching fish, but soon enough I found out how relaxing it can be. Being inundated with so much do in our already busy lives, it's nice to spend a few hours with friends and be one with nature. Even if it is at a man made lake.

I used my friend's rod, but today I found three of my dad's rods. So now I just have to get some fishing line and hooks and I'll be set. Oh and probably ask for a fishing license as a birthday gift. :)

Have you gone fishing before?
I have popped my fishing cherry. :P

Made my new Doctor Who "fashionable" for the event.

I do like my sparkly bracelets!

Last night from New York to Sydney, people were celebrating Fashion's Night Out. Now in it's third year, this event started off as a kickoff to NYFW and now has become a way to celebrate fashion designers and shopping. Who doesn't like that?

This year, FNO made it's way to my local mall. I have to say for its first year, it was a really nice and well organized event. It wasn't crazy busy like say if you went to FNO in Los Angeles, but it was still a lively crowd. One of the salons were giving neck and hand massages, there was free food from California Pizza Kitchen and the best part, a little champagne bar courtesy of Wilson Creek Winery. I'm not much of a champagne drinker, but they debuted a Orange Mimosa and Peach Bellini at the event and they were so good. I had a small little tasting of each, but I probably could have easily drink the whole bottle. They were that good.

Since I RSVP for the event, I got this really nice red tote and inside were some coupons to use for that night and a set of cute wine charms. I couldn't really do a lot of shopping, but I did pick out one item, this cute cat and mouse ring from Charming Charlie, this newly opened accessories store that has a massive amount of reasonably priced accessories from jewelry to shoes. With the coupon the ring was less than $9 and its now one of the more unique rings in my collection.

In case you're wondering. My nail polish is China Glaze China Rouge with
China Glaze Ruby Pumps layered over it.

Overall, it was an ejoyable event and I hope they continue with this next year.

I've Got a New Business

First off, it's not what you think. I'll post about that later this week. But instead I found this fun game to play with your family and friends via a YouTube video from the amazing Catherine Tate called "I've Got a New Business".

The premise of the game is pretty simple. You tell someone you have a new business. After you tell them what the business is, they ask you how it's going. To which you reply with something that pertains to said business.

Example

P1: "I've got a new business"
P2: "What is it?"
P1: "I've opened up a laundrymat"
P2: "How's that going for you?"
P1: "We're really cleaning up!"

LOL.

So it's a little silly but it can get downright cheeky when you start coming up with absurd businesses. I'm definitely playing this at my next family gathering and you should too.

Jump for Joy

I'm so glad I have the next 4 days off. Granted I was supposed to spend the weekend at Coachella, but things happen and you just have to roll with the punches. The good thing is that I was able to sell my ticket and I can still watch some of the performances online. I'm also going to be productive this weekend and tackle some projects I've been meaning to do for a while. Did I mention I'm going to see Aziz Ansari with my brother tomorrow? The last time I went to a comedy show was Demetri Martin 3 years ago at UCR. It's about time I went to another one. I do know that hilarity will ensue tomorrow.
