The Girl With The Velvet Touch

I honestly think the last time I wore velvet was in high school. It came in a form of a maroon burnt velvet cardigan that I got at the now defunct Mervyn's. Recently my mom found it while going through some old clothes.
While a bit snug in the arms, I was surprised that I can actually kinda fit into to. I'll have to devise a way to work in back in my wardrobe, but in the meantime, here are some of my favorite pieces.
Hmmm...Need to find a way to get the shoes to magically appear in my closet.

Reality Check

In my last post, I had my dream birthday wish list. This time around, everything on this list is more attainable. Meaning I would be able to get these myself.
Although it would be to have any of these items from this list and my dream list land on my front door. :P

I love the scene in this necklace. Reminds me of something you would see in Meet Me in St. Louis. Plus I like how it's set against the dark green. Not exactly emerald, May's birthstone, but it works. A really great find on Etsy.

With her blend of sarcasm and cynicism , Daria was one of those shows on MTV that was smart and funny; a rarity these days. I just want to spend the whole day reliving her days at Lawndale High with her best friend Jane, ditsy sister Quinn and airhead couple Jake and Britney. Plus, wasn't Trent, Jane's brother, a hot looking animated character? :P

Grey Gardens Documentary and Movie

Oh, Little and Big Edie Beal with their fascinating, eccentric life. You can say that they are free spirits, but there's a bit of sadness knowing that they still had dreams that never came in fruition. Especially for Little Edie. But this often referenced (in pop culture and in fashion) documentary is something that must be watched and the 2009 movie starring Drew Barrymore (Little Edie) and Jessica Lange (Big Edie) which chronicles their life before and during the filming of the documentary  is a great companion.

Bacon and Cupcakes Tote

Original Artwork: Mini Watercolor "Cuppie and Gnome"

I discovered CakeSpy a few months ago and wondered why I didn't find it sooner! It's a great site about desserts. Also Jessie Oleson, The CakeSpy is a talented artist. I would love to carry around the bacon and cupcake (two of my favorite things!) tote. Plus wouldn't this Gnome and Cupcake watercolor look adorable in a kitchen?

Only in Dreams

In two weeks, it'll be my 28th birthday. Where did the time go? Not sure what I'm going to do to celebrate, but I know that watching the series finale of Lost will be part of the plan.

One thing I remember doing when I was younger was making wish lists. Next to Christmas, this was the other time I would bust out a No.2 pencil and pad of paper. It may no longer include Cabbage Patch Kids or My Little Pony, but there are things I wouldn't mind getting on my birthday.

First off, here's my impossible wish-list. Meaning I will either have to win the lottery or find a rich sugar daddy. :P

 Wendy Brandes Rings

Not only does she have a great blog, but she also creates amazing jewelry.
I love both of these rings.

A Trip to Paris

I've been wanting to visit here for the longest time. I would be a very happy girl if I can eat chocolate croissants and drink coffee while enjoying the view of the Eiffel Tower.

Vespa Scooter

A great alternative to driving a car, for short distances anyway. Plus I can pretend that I'm chic in the suburbs. :P

I will say that I've wanted a Vespa ever since I watched Roman Holiday.
This clip makes driving one so fun. :)

The sensible wish-list will come in the next blog post. :P

Liking this...

I really like Rebecca Taylor's S/S '09 Collection. It has that vintage/girly/bohemian vibe going on. If money grew on trees, I would buy everything. Plus I really like the shoes, although I don't know if I can pull them off.

In unrelated news, does anyone watch Lost? What did you think of the season finale? It was intense. Have to wait 9 months before the final season starts.
