Whovian Week: Makeup Tutorial Me

In the past month, I've started to watch beauty vloggers and pay more attention to my daily beauty/makeup routine. So I decided to type up "Doctor Who Makeup Tutorials" and boy did I find a lot! I think it's great that there's not only tutorials on how to do your make up like The Ood or a Weeping Angel, but also for Amy, Rose, Clara, and even Sarah Jane. Here are a few I found on the interwebs.

She has also done makeup tutorials for all of the companions. It's pretty cool.

Also if you're looking for some fantastic looking Doctor Who inspired nail polishes, look no further than Etsy. Here are some of my favorites. Click on the picture to go to their Etsy store.

Everyday is Rex Manning Day

Dress: Forever 21
Tank (underneath): Old Navy
Jean Jacket: Gap
Patent Penny Loafers: Target
Necklaces: Forever 21

This would be my perfect outfit for my first day working at Empire Records. I know my dress isn't as short as Corey's and Gina's or as goth/punk as Deb's, but I think it fit in with the team right? Well at least I can hang out with Lucas on the couch as he curses "the man" while trying to pick the quarters that A.J. super glued on the floor.
Movie references aside, I love this dress. It has a funky animal print that surprisingly works. I might have to put this in my 30x30 pile, just to see how else I work this dress. I've also been on the hunt for penny loafers and I haven't had any luck. I saw some Bass ones on super sale at 6pm.com, but they didn't have my size. Boo. But last week I went to Target and picked up these patent leather ones for only $7. Score.

I also went to Sephora today to use the gift card I got for Christmas to find the perfect red lipstick. I spent a good 45 minutes testing out the different brands and shades of red out there, sometimes the makeup choices still overwhelm me, but I still left with a great shade of red. Hot Tango (05) from Sephora Collection Rouge Lipstick. My first grown up lipstick. Yay!

Now I just need to check out Keiko's Red Lipstick Tutorial and maybe I'll be rocking red lips as much as Gwen Stefani.

Trying These Out

It's only been a year since I started wearing colored eye shadow that wasn't a natural shade, but this year, I want to try out these two beauty trends.

Red Lips

Oh the elusive red lip. I've been shy about trying it out for a while, but I think it's about time I find the perfect red lipstick. A trip to Sephora is due.

Milk Maid Braids

I can rock the braided headband, but I still can't master the milk maid braid. Now that my hair is a little bit longer and more of one length, I'm going to try out Emily's braid tutorial one more time.

What beauty trends do you want to try out?

Catching Up

Shirt, tank, skirt and belt: Old Navy
Sandals: Target

Wore this last Thursday when I went shopping to the mall with my mom. She was looking for some sandals for her trip to Vegas with my dad next month. They're going for a home and garden convention, so I don't have to worry about them getting too crazy. :P
I went because last week Sephora sent out 15% off coupons to their beauty insiders and with a $20 gift card burning in my wallet, it was time to have a mini Sephora splurge.

I ended up getting Miss Dior Cherie, travel sized Josie Maran Argon Oil Moisturizing Stick,  brow gel, and a brow brush.

I already have Miss Dior Cherie L'eau and wanted the original version as well. It also has a wonderful ad campaign directed by Sofia Coppola.

The moisturizing stick is becoming one of my fast faves. I like how it's packed as a stick rather than in a pot, which makes it easier to apply on your cuticles, my problem area. Plus it doesn't have a strong scent and (along with the rest of her beauty line) is 100% organic.

Did anyone else partake in Sephora's 15% off coupon?
What did you end up buying?
