Zooey Deschanel in Allure Magazine

When I saw this over at Refinery29, I knew I had to post it here. Zooey is February's Allure cover girl and I love (as described in the video below) the 60's chorus girl meets Natalie Wood in Gypsy and Shirley Maclaine in Sweet Charity. The issue hits newsstands on the 24th.

I have major Zooey hair envy. I wish my hair looked like that everyday.

Fall Style Inspiration: Teen Vogue 2004

Although I'm way, way past my teen years, I still like to flip through Teen Vogue every now and then. The way the clothes are styled fit in my life so much more than the high end styling that's featured in Vogue. One fashion layout spread I really liked in particular was the one with Alexis Bledel and Adam Brody in Teen Vogue's 2004 September issue. Even though the issue is seven years old, everything they are wearing still looks current. Fashion is cyclical after all. Plus it makes me all nostalgic for The O.C. and Gilmore Girls, but that's a whole other post.

Hey There Shortcake!

As a child of the 80's I grew up with Care Bares, Cabbage Patch Kids, Rainbow Brite, and Jem.
Another one of my faves was Strawberry Shortcake. With her mop of red hair and green and white striped tights I was a big fan of hers.
As evidenced of my bedding when I was 2.

So I liked how one of my favorite magazines, Lula, has re-imagined Strawberry Shortcake and her friends.

I've been searching online for more scans of the new issue and
I can't wait for it to come out in the U.S.

Country Chic

Got the August issue of InStyle in the mail yesterday and as I was flipping through the pages, I came across a cute photo spread of Zooey Deschanel and Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Although we're halfway through summer, the photos made me want to layer on some fall clothes and run through a wheat field.

I really can't wait for their movie to come out. I almost went to a free screening with my friend last week. But when we got there, they passed out more tickets than what the screen could hold, so we couldn't see watch it. Despite that, I'm still going to make the trek out to Los Angeles or San Diego to watch the movie.
