Fall Style Inspiration: Teen Vogue 2004

Although I'm way, way past my teen years, I still like to flip through Teen Vogue every now and then. The way the clothes are styled fit in my life so much more than the high end styling that's featured in Vogue. One fashion layout spread I really liked in particular was the one with Alexis Bledel and Adam Brody in Teen Vogue's 2004 September issue. Even though the issue is seven years old, everything they are wearing still looks current. Fashion is cyclical after all. Plus it makes me all nostalgic for The O.C. and Gilmore Girls, but that's a whole other post.

It's so true. This photo spread is completely current - even down to the pattern mixing, etc... How funny. And whatever happened to them exactly? I rarely hear about them any more. - Katy

If you hadn't said these photos were from 2004 I never would have known because the style they're wearing in this spread are still on trend for this fall. I love the coat she has on in the 'Sunset Boulevard' (6th picture down) photo and I'm loving the vintage inspired outfit she's wearing in the last photo. This spread makes me miss the OC so much... I may just have to watch them on netflix!

I love the pattern mixing in these outfits, so very relevant to today's fashion. My favourite is Alex's outfit in the last photo. I'm slowly becoming obsessed with yellow and that outfit feeds my need for yellow everything!

I can't believe that's from 2004!  Love these photos - I'd gladly wear pretty much any of it today, especially Alexis's last and second to last looks.
