Now on to day one of Comic-Con.
My brother and I got to the convention center around 9:45 am thinking that we'll be able to get our passes fairly quickly. But of course, there was a line. A line that almost made its way to Seaport Village, about a half mile from the convention center. The line did move fairly quickly, but of course this wouldn't be the last time I'll have to wait in line.
This year I didn't go to that many panels, (I ended up only going to four) and I spent most of my time walking the exhibit floor. I have to say walking the floor is so exhausting mentally and physically. There's so much to see that towards the end of the con you keep wondering if you missed a booth that you shouldn't. But you can't bear to walk to the booth because your legs and feet just want to stop walking and relax.
Here are some pictures from the exhibit floor on Thursday. I think we spent 2-3 hours walking the floor.
Then my brother and I went outside the convention center and checked out Coco Moca The Museum of Conan Art. The pop-up gallery featured viewer submitted art of The Flaming C, Conan's superhero alter ego. Here are some of my favorite pieces:
The Flaming C! by Daniel Mayes
Lil Flaming C by Brian Gressett
Mighty Mugg Flaming C by Eric Anderson
Lego Flaming C by Nathan Sawaya
To end the day, we went to the Entertainment Weekly: The Visionaries: A Discussion with Jon Favreau and Guillermo del Toro panel. Also the panel with the longest title ever. :P Like last year when I went to the same panel last year but with J.J. Abrams and Joss Wheadon as the visionaries, it was a great panel to witness. It's awesome when you can see that two directors have mutual respect and admiration for each other and you're just there to listen in to their conversation. Also I would somehow like to visit del Toro's Bleak House, a house he purchased to showcase his horror and sci-fi memorabilia he has amassed. I found video of his house and it is awesome.
So that was day one. Stay tuned for more re-caps of Comic-Con!

Comic-con, why must you be on the other side of the continent?!
It looks like you had so much fun though! I find it especially cool that you got to see Guillermo del Toro. His house and collection are amazing. I can't wait for more recaps and maybe even a picture or two of your costumes if we're lucky? lol
Looks like a blast! The Conan art is so cool.
I am so sorry that I did not get to do a guest post for you :(
It looks like you had a blast! I seriously want to go to this one day. Between you and my love John Cabrera (he was Brian in Gilmore Girls, but you probably know that) I was for once really bummed that I lived in Michigan last week. You look super cute too!
