Why don't you do it yourself?*

With Memorial day last week, I actually got to have three days off in a row. I have to say it was a really nice. For the most part, I did chores and errands around the house. But I also was able to finish some projects I've been trying to start on for the longest time.
One of those projects was a jewelry board. I tried to make one a few years ago with a cork board and some t-pins, but that didn't really work. Most of my earrings collected dust because I couldn't get to them. So this time around I used a different way of organizing them.
Using the same cork board, I covered a piece of poster board cut to fit with pretty fabric I found at Jo-Ann's, placed it inside the cork board, placed some chains across and then trimmed it off with some simple dental molding.

So it went from this...

To this...

I used my first real power tool, my dad's circular saw, and I felt really handy.
Although it is true about measuring twice and cutting once.
I didn't measure correctly on the trim and had to cut extra pieces to fit into the gaps.
Now all of my earrings are organized. I'm able to see what I have and they will no longer be collecting dust.
I put some of my necklaces on there, but I'm thinking of making another one just for my necklaces.

* Watched the 40-Year-Old Virgin the other day. Favorite part is where Andy (Steve Carell) gets his chest waxed. Hilarious.
