NYC Fashion Week

It has been a busy week for me. Last Thursday I went to go see Rouge Wave at the Belly Up with my friend Rebeca. If you like Rouge Wave, I recommend seeing them live. They put on a really good show. Then after having Friday off, I worked six days in a row. Which wouldn't be too bad except on my sixth day, I had to figure out where to put 5,000 units of new baby items in one little shop. There was a lot of going up and down ladders and moving fixtures during the entire process.
However the one thing that I have been looking forward to after work is getting to peruse the fall collections on Style.com. I don't know if I'll ever have an opportunity to actually go see a fashion show in New York, but at least this way I can wear my fla
flannel p.j.'s with no shame.

My favorite collections so far are....

BCBG Max Ariza
I always had an affinity for his clothes. They are feminine without being too girly.
They have this effortless chic to them.
I especially like how there's a little bit of color poking out of the brown dress.

Charles Nolan
I liked his take on Marie
Antoinette, down to some of the models wearing red chokers.
Perhaps a visual representation on how she met her death?
Love the blue coat. Something I would see myself wearing.

Koi Suwannagate

I loved the humming bird embroidery in her collection.

It adds a touch of spring when the air stars to cool a little.
My favorite look is the second one with the rosette on the top of the waist band.
Although I'll never be able to afford these clothes, I don't see that as a hindrance. I see this as a jumping off point. With creativity and determination, most of these looks can be replicated. That's the great thing about style. It's adding your own little trademark.
