A hair flip here and there...

I'm usually a wash and wear gal when it comes to my hair. I'll spend the money for a great haircut, then will style it with inexpensive products and let my hair grow for the next 5-6 months. But the one style that has always alluded me was the beachy wave/ bead head look.

As shown by Kate Hudson, and fellow bloggers Liebemarlene Vintage and The Vintage Society, it has that look where it took hardly any time and effort and it just looks so ethereal.

Although I don't know if their hair is naturally curly or wavy, I do know that my hair is fine. But there's a lot of it, so I have this hair that never wants to hold a curl for more than five minutes or will create slight waves at the ends if I don't blow dry my hair all the way. I think I have used every product known to man in order to achieve some type of wave, like the John Frieda Beach Spray. That did nothing for my hair except make it greasy.

But after many attempts, I have finally achieved the beachy wave look. It all started last week I went to Walmart and I saw that the Sunsilk line had a new gel/cream product aimed at curly/wavy hair. So of course I had to get it and I tested it out yesterday. I have to say, I absolutely loved the way my hair turned out. All I did was apply the product after I took a shower and let it air dry. I also twisted my hair so the waves would stay in place.

Then after wrapping my sections of my hair around a curling iron, this is what I got...

When I went to work that morning, I have never gotten so many complements on my hair. It even held its shape throughout my 8hr shift. Plus it's nice to look good in front of the cute Starbucks barista guy. Haha.
So talking about hair could be considered trite.
But hey, everyone should be proud of their great hair days now and then.

Video of the day:
"Always Be" by Jimmy Eat World

They are a band that has been for me, music wise, throughout the years.
While my musical taste will continue to broaden,

they will always be (no pun intended) one of my top ten bands of all time.
Can't wait to see them on April 5th at Bamboozle Left.
