Hello Dolly!

When I was looking at the J Crew spring 2011 collection, I saw this outfit and immediately thought, I can like totally recreate that! Ok, maybe without the valley girl inflections.
Like a kid excited to wear their new outfit on the first day of school, I gathered all of my 30 for 30 items, laid them out on the bed and changed into this...

 30 for 30 pieces:
Old Navy Chambray Shirt
Gap Blue Skirt
Reflections Brown Boots
The Icing:
Old Navy Brown Studded Belt
Forever 21 Owl Necklace
Kohls Gold Watch

So, it's not an exact replica of the outfit, but I still think it's a mighty darn good one. It's also my favorite one so far. I think adding the blue instead of gold brocade skirt and the brown belt and boots instead of obi style belt and sandals with socks (which I'm still scared to try out), added a country bend to the outfit.
Hmmm... do you think Gwyneth Paltrow will recruit me as one of her Country Strong back up singers during her press junket?

Oh. Em. Gee. I hope so. :P
I'm thinking that this outfit might be one upped tomorrow. Figuring out the most awesome outfit to wear to the Scott Pilgrim midnight screening and director/cast Q&A in Los Angles tomorrow.
Soooo excited and pictures will be taken.

VERY cool recreation. One thing I'm enjoying about this challenge is getting back into the swing of recreating looks with what I've got. I feel like ever since I started style blogging, I've been buying more and more new stuff. But before, I used to read magazines and catalogs, and create inspired looks from what I had...just like you did here! I love it. :)

Niiice, the colour is very you and the skirt is just lovely. I agree with the above cupcake, the challenge is bringing out the best in me for outfits. I'm no longer wearing the same old stuff, it's quite refreshing having this challenge.
