"Gotta make a move, or you'll miss out..."

Maybe because I have so much to write about or maybe out of laziness, I'm thinking the latter, but I haven't been posting on this little blog for quite sometime. But I'm going to change that starting right now...

First off, in approximately four days, my dear younger sister will be heading out to the Big Apple. She will be residing in Queens with her boyfriend and two roommates. While I am sad that she will be leaving, she is my lil' sis after all, I am also happy about it because I finally get my own room again, and the fact I'll have a place to stay when I finally get to visit New York.

After our family moved to a much smaller house, we had to share a room again, just like we did when we were growing up. This time we're much older with more stuff. So it was pretty tight fit, especially when it came to closet space.

So with her leaving, my head is filled with ways to decorate my newfound space. First off, I'm gonna have to go through my "stuff" and get rid things I don't really need. Once I'm done purging my stuff, I'm thinking of re-finishing the furniture in my room. Right now it's a mish-mosh of thrift store and childhood furniture. At first, I was thinking of painting or staining them a dark chocolate color, but now I'm reconsidering that and instead painting them a nice cream color on the outside and painting the inside drawers a bright coral or teal.

I'm starting to collect magazine tears for decorating inspiration. I'll try to post some of them soon.

The other big thing in my life is that I'm finally going to finish school and get my college degree. Technically, I was supposed to get it three years ago. But I did some things that screwed up my GPA, note to self and others: Unless you don't work or don't plan on having a social life for a few months, do not try to take on a minor on the semester before you graduate. I don't know why it took me this long to go back to school. Maybe fear of the unknown, or that I'm just really comfortable living at home. Now I'm going to finish what I started long time ago. You can only work at a minimum wage job for so long and there are so many things that I want to do. But some of those dreams will never be realized without a college degree.

So on Friday, I'm going to go to the admissions office of Cal State San Marcos and find out what I need to do in order to finally get my Communications Degree. Wish me luck! At least I'll be the second kid in our family to have a degree. My sister who graduated two weeks ago is the first, hence her moving to New York.

That's the goings on in my life so far...

Side note: The vintage fur collared coat I was bidding on e-bay that was on my last post? Well I won it! I was the only bidder, always nice when that happens, and when I got in the mail I loved it even more. My sister said it looked like an old lady coat. But I think that's what I like about it.

Video of the day:
Jimmy Eat World - "A Praise Chorus"
Right now, this song sums up my life.
I need to stop thinking about what I want to do
and actually step up and do something about it.
